Tennis and bliny

Paulina, Jane, and Olga have tennis lessons twice a week. They invited us to come to the gym to meet their coach and watch if we’d like. Paulina and Jane are just beginning to play tennis. Their drills and conditioning regimen reminded me of Deanne’s early days of coaching my beginners team. Their coach is a handsome, personable, and talented player.

Olga has been playing for a number of years. Her lesson ended by playing a set. Watching this doubles match really made me want to get back to my tennis.

This evening we invited Paulina, Sasha, Olga, Jane, and Tim to come for tea at our apartment. They arrived with bliny makings: bliny, diced ham, grated cheese. They whipped these together, heated them in the microwave, and, “Presto!” we had a delicious dinner. We had some “zakusky” items (blue cheese, dark rye bread, fruit) and made a big pot of hot water for tea.

We watched some of our Siberian photos on the laptop and we showed them photos of our family, our apartment, and our “dacha” at Pipe Lake.
